children beginning to read chapter books I love the BRANCHES series of books from Scholastic, and this might be my very favorite of them all. Boris is adorable! It's hard to find a real chapter book without an "Easy Reader" notation on it for kids at this level, but this is just perfect. Combine that with a lovable main character, a fun plot, and engaging illustrations...... I really liked this very early chapter book. Funny story with cute illustrations and light text makes this a perfect first chapter book for readers who want to move out of the early reader section. The thought and speech bubbles add to the text and will appeal to kids who like graphic novels. I plan to read all of the Boris books to...
