I wish I'd found this book when I was a kid. I would have loved it. Instead I devoured Enid Blyton. Is it just me, or is the plot of Five on a Treasure Island eerily evocative of Swallows and Amazons? I'm hoping to get my son to read it. He seems interested. He's already been through the Enid Blyton stage. I think he'd like this tale... A tale of summer childhood adventures.
