After being disappointed with the Art of Marvels Ant-Man, I thought perhaps the Marvel art books were becoming redundant. How many ways can you present concept art and still keep it interesting? After receiving The Art of Civil War, I realized the underlying material is essential. While Ant-man was a fun film, his origin and world were... I love the smell of a brand new art book. Some interesting stuff in here but this art book doesn't seem to be as comprehensive as The Winter Soldier art book. Probably because Marvel continuously tries to cover up the fact that this movie originally wasn't Civil War and the fact that spidey got chucked in last minute. (*siiiiighhhhhh*)A... This is a pretty good, but just short of great, entry into the Marvel "Art of the Movie" series.The main thing which holds it back from 5 star excellence for me is the use of double-page spreads.
